Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an AI Data Platform Lead in Canada.
This is a foundational, high-impact role at the center of an organization’s AI transformation, responsible for building the data backbone that powers intelligent systems across the enterprise. You will design and govern the data platform that enables GPT assistants, AI agents, predictive analytics, and real-time operational intelligence. Acting at the intersection of data engineering, AI infrastructure, and governance, you will define how data is structured, trusted, and consumed across all departments. This role goes far beyond traditional BI or reporting, shaping the semantic and contextual layers that fuel enterprise-wide AI capabilities. Working closely with engineering, AI, and business stakeholders, you will ensure data is AI-ready, scalable, and reliable. Your work will directly determine the performance and accuracy of the organization’s intelligent systems and future operating model.
In this role, you will own the design and evolution of an AI-first data architecture, ensuring the data warehouse and surrounding ecosystem support advanced analytics, machine learning, and agentic AI use cases.
- Design and own the end-to-end data architecture for AI, analytics, and BI consumption across the organization
- Lead enterprise-wide data modeling across multiple departments, building consistent and reusable canonical data structures
- Develop the contextual intelligence layer, including RAG systems, vector databases, embedding pipelines, and unstructured data processing
- Build and govern AI/ML data infrastructure, including feature stores, training pipelines, and model output integration
- Define and enforce data quality, governance, access control, and compliance standards for AI-ready data
- Oversee ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration, and real-time data flows across systems
- Partner with engineering, AI, and BI stakeholders to ensure alignment between infrastructure, semantic models, and AI consumption needs
- Translate business and AI requirements into scalable data architecture roadmaps and implementation plans
You bring strong experience in data engineering and architecture, with proven exposure to AI-driven data systems and modern cloud-based data stacks. You are comfortable operating at both strategic and technical levels, translating complex needs into scalable data foundations.
- 7–10 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles
- Strong hands-on expertise with modern data stack tools (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Airflow) and cloud platforms (AWS required)
- Proven experience designing data systems for AI/ML use cases, including RAG, vector databases, or feature stores
- Strong data modeling expertise across dimensional, normalized, and AI-optimized schemas
- Experience building real-time or near-real-time data pipelines for operational systems
- Proficiency in SQL and Python, with strong engineering fundamentals
- Experience defining data governance, security, and access controls for AI-enabled systems
- Ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate complex concepts clearly
- Experience in SaaS environments and cross-functional technical program leadership
- Competitive compensation package
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Life insurance, AD&D, and disability coverage
- Flexible spending accounts (health and dependent care)
- 401(k) with company match
- Flexible PTO and paid parental leave
- Voluntary benefits (including pet insurance in some cases)
- Remote-friendly and flexible work arrangements
- Inclusive and diverse work environment focused on belonging and accessibility
