Exeter Township - Berks County, Pennsylvania
Position: Summer Playground Program Leader
Salary: $15/hour
Employment Type: Non-Exempt; Seasonal
Position will remain open until filled.

Exeter Township is a vibrant community located in southeastern Berks County, Pennsylvania, approximately 6 miles east of Reading. With a population of around 25,500, it is the third-most populous municipality in the county. Covering roughly 24 square miles, the Township offers a mix of suburban neighborhoods, historical landmarks, and scenic natural areas.
Program Overview
The Summer Playground Program runs for eight (8) weeks, mid-June to mid-August, Monday through Friday 8:30AM to 3:00PM at an assigned Township Park with select off-site locations. Friday hours may vary due to special events or field trips.
Position Overview
Lead and participate in recreational activities, on-site programs, and field trips.
Explain and enforce program rules, safety procedures, and park regulations; report behavioral concerns to the Head Leader.
Set up, supervise, and clean up activities, ensuring proper use and care of equipment and facilities.
Monitor participants to maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive environment; promptly report any safety, abuse, or harassment concerns.
Assist with developing age-appropriate and inclusive programs and activities.
Qualifications
Must be at least 16 years of age
Experience working with school aged children preferred
General knowledge of recreation and outdoor activities
Hold a current First Aid and CPR certification or willing to obtain one before the start of the program
Ability to obtain PA Child Abuse clearance
