About This Position
Responsible for maintaining inpatient nursing's standards of practice during assigned shifts. Accountable for patient care decisions and delegation of tasks to ancillary, licensed and/or unlicensed staff members. Responsible for maintaining patient throughput in the treatment process. Assesses staff capabilities and makes assignments based on the needs of the patient population. Assists the director by supporting staff to address education needs and improve processes. Provides feedback to the director on staff performance. Manages behavior standards during assigned shifts. Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments. Functions within the goals of Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare, HIPAA regulations, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, and the Code of Professional and Business Ethics. Accountable for participation in performance improvement activities, infection control practices and safety measures within the department.
Requirements:
Current Missouri RN license
One to two years' charge nurse experience preferred
BLS, ACLS & PALS certification desired (must be willing to obtain after hire)
Nursing experience in areas of Medical/Surgical/ICU
