Position Overview

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is an important member of the treatment team and is responsible for supporting the safety, structure, and well-being of clients throughout their treatment experience.

BHTs provide direct client support, maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, monitor client activity and behavior, and communicate important observations to the clinical and operational teams.

Schedule

Part-Time — 3rd Shift

  • Friday–Sunday
  • 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Weekend overnight availability is required.
Compensation
  • Starting at $17.00/hour
  • Compensation may be negotiable based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of clients during overnight hours
  • Provide direct support and supervision in a structured treatment environment
  • Assist clients with daily needs and adherence to program expectations
  • Observe and accurately document client behaviors, mood, activities, and significant events
  • Communicate relevant client observations and concerns to the appropriate members of the treatment team
  • Support treatment goals and maintain appropriate professional boundaries
  • Respond appropriately to behavioral or crisis situations and utilize de-escalation techniques when needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and therapeutic environment
  • Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and safety protocols
  • Collaborate with clinical, housing, and operational team members to support quality client care
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in behavioral health, mental health, healthcare, residential treatment, or a related setting preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in challenging situations
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work independently during overnight hours
  • CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
