Yakima CDL Class A Driver in Yakima, Washington at Western Materials, Inc

We are looking for an experienced truck driver to serve in hauling, loading, and unloading of building materials and related products in a safe and timely manner. Pay dependent on experience. Apply in person. This job is Monday – Friday, 40-60 hours a week, home every night and no weekends (except annual physical inventory).

Responsibilities:

• Transport finished goods and raw materials to and from manufacturing facilities, as well as retail and distribution centers to and from construction sites.

• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.

• Plan routes and meet daily delivery schedules.

• Communicate with customers as needed to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries.

• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)

• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.

• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.

• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.

• Collect and verify delivery instructions.

• Report defects, accidents, or violations.

Skills:

• Proven work experience as a truck driver.

• Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc.).

• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.

• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.

• No recent moving or driving violations.

• Valid Class CDL.
