Playwright Specialist Sales Engineer / Professional Services Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Playwright Specialist Sales Engineer / Professional Services Consultant based in United States.

This is a customer-facing technical role combining sales engineering, professional services, and hands-on test automation expertise.
You will help organizations evaluate, implement, and scale modern application testing solutions across web and API environments.
The role centers on Playwright, CI/CD integration, test architecture, diagnostics, and reliable test-data strategies.
You will guide customers from technical discovery and proof of concept through implementation, optimization, and enablement.
Success requires translating complex engineering challenges into practical solutions and measurable business outcomes.
You’ll work closely with developers, QA leaders, security teams, procurement stakeholders, and account executives.
The ideal environment is fast-moving, technically demanding, and highly focused on customer value and production-quality delivery.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead technical discovery with customers, understanding application architectures, testing practices, delivery pipelines, security requirements, and business objectives.
  • Design and deliver compelling demonstrations and technical presentations focused on Playwright and modern test automation workflows.
  • Build and manage proofs of concept that demonstrate measurable customer value and support successful technical evaluations.
  • Partner with account executives to develop solution strategies, define success criteria, address technical objections, and communicate solution value.
  • Design, implement, and optimize production-quality Playwright automation frameworks, including fixtures, page objects, utilities, reporting, parallel execution, tracing, retries, and diagnostics.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD environments such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and CircleCI.
  • Troubleshoot flaky tests, performance issues, environmental constraints, test-data dependencies, networks, proxies, certificates, and enterprise authentication environments.
  • Develop deterministic and repeatable test-data strategies, including data creation, seeding, masking, isolation, cleanup, and environment-specific configuration.
  • Provide implementation guidance, technical workshops, training, governance recommendations, and best-practice guidance to customer teams.
  • Create reusable technical assets such as sample applications, migration playbooks, implementation materials, and testing standards.
  • Analyze testing and quality data to identify trends in reliability, flakiness, execution time, coverage, and release risk.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to continuously improve adoption, testing practices, solution architecture, and overall customer outcomes.
  • Maintain strong documentation covering customer requirements, solution designs, technical risks, proof-of-concept results, and implementation recommendations.
Requirements:
  • 3–5 years of experience in software development, test automation, quality engineering, sales engineering, solutions architecture, or technical consulting, ideally within SaaS, developer tools, DevOps, or quality engineering.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Playwright, including the test runner, fixtures, projects, tracing, reporters, parallel execution, debugging, and related tooling.
  • Advanced proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript, with the ability to produce clean, modular, documented, production-quality code.
  • Strong understanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, DOM, HTTP, REST APIs, browser behavior, cookies, sessions, and authentication.
  • Experience designing maintainable end-to-end, integration, API, and component-testing strategies.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and familiarity with Git, package management, build tooling, containers, and modern developer workflows.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL, APIs, JSON, test-data management, data isolation, synthetic data, masking, and privacy controls.
  • Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems and complex enterprise environments involving networking, proxies, certificates, identity providers, and restricted infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of testing strategy, test design, quality risk analysis, automation principles, observability, and quality metrics.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, written communication, and stakeholder-management abilities, with confidence engaging both technical and business audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple customer engagements independently while maintaining strong attention to detail and delivery quality.
  • Experience with cloud-based testing platforms, Selenium, Cypress, WebdriverIO, Appium, or comparable automation technologies is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Java, Python, or C#; Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, infrastructure as code, OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, MFA, and observability tools is a plus.
  • Experience with mobile, visual, accessibility, performance testing, or relevant cloud, testing, security, or agile certifications is advantageous.
Benefits:
  • Base salary: $140,000–$160,000 USD for the U.S. compensation range.
  • Health coverage, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Disability and life insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Flexible paid time off.
  • Parental leave benefits.
  • Professional development opportunities.
  • Opportunity to work on technically complex customer engagements involving modern test automation and developer tooling.
  • Customer-facing role with exposure to enterprise engineering, QA, DevOps, security, and technology leadership teams.
  • Collaborative environment focused on innovation, technical excellence, and measurable customer outcomes.
  • Commitment to equal employment opportunities and an inclusive workplace.
