Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050.

This position works closely with operational leaders, trainers, employees, and system vendors to support training administration, user support, system configuration, reporting, and continuous improvement of training systems. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage digital systems in a mining and industrial environment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESLearning Management System Administration:- Coordinate and manage configuration, administration, and maintenance of the site Learning Management System (LMS), currently ADP Workforce Now – Learn.
- Configure LMS functionality to support training programs, policies, procedures, and operational requirements.
- Manage software updates, enhancements, and system upgrades.
- Create standard and custom reports to support operational and compliance reporting requirements.
- Add and maintain user profiles, permissions, and training assignments within the LMS.
User Support & Training:
- Develop and maintain LMS procedures, user guides, and job aids.
- Provide hands-on support and training to LMS users across the organization.
- Support leaders, trainers, and employees with system access, troubleshooting, and training record inquiries.
- Communicate LMS updates, processes, and system changes to users at all organizational levels.
System Troubleshooting & Data Integrity:
- Identify, prioritize, and resolve LMS-related system issues in collaboration with vendors, IT support, and subject matter experts.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and traceability of training and compliance data.
- Analyze system data to identify trends, risks, and performance gaps.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to training systems and reporting processes.
Audit & Compliance Support:
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and reliable training records and reports.
- Ensure training data and documentation meet regulatory, corporate, and governance requirements.
- Maintain training records and reporting systems in accordance with site standards and compliance obligations.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working as a digital systems or database administrator
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Experience with data analysis and management reporting
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees and leadership teams
• Ability to troubleshoot system issues and support end users
• Valid driver’s licensePreferred• Experience administering Learning Management Systems (LMS)
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now – Learn or similar training management systems
• Experience working in mining, industrial, or heavy manufacturing environments
• Experience supporting compliance reporting and audit requirements
• Knowledge of training administration and records management practices WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS• Primarily office-based role with occasional work in operational areas across the mine site
• Approximately 90% office work and 10% field interaction
• Work performed in offices, meeting rooms, and training facilities across the operation
• Occasional work in off-site meeting locations in surrounding communities
• Required to wear site-approved work attire, including long pants and closed-toe shoes
• Exposure to industrial environments including dust, noise, and varying weather conditions when in operational areas
• Frequent computer use and extended periods sitting at a workstation
• May require walking on uneven ground and accessing various operational departments across site
All candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment medical exam, drug and alcohol test, and background check. All positions require a pre-placement physical examination to ensure candidates are 'fit for duty’. Additional training and/or testing may be required.
