The City of Sandy Springs is seeking a customer-focused, organized, and proactive professional to serve as our next Lobby Ambassador / Administrative Assistant I within the Community Development Department. This highly visible role serves as the first point of contact for residents, contractors, business owners, and visitors seeking permitting, licensing, and revenue-related assistance.

What You’ll DoAs the Lobby Ambassador, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and efficient customer experience while supporting day-to-day permitting and administrative operations. Responsibilities include:
- Serving as the primary point of contact for walk-in visitors, phone calls, and customer inquiries
- Assisting customers with permitting applications, online portal navigation, inspection scheduling, and payment processes
- Coordinating appointments and customer flow between Community Development, Permit, and Revenue staff
- Reviewing permit applications for completeness and assisting customers with resolving deficiencies
- Managing records, workflow queues, customer requests, and administrative tasks with accuracy and efficiency
- Providing technical assistance and troubleshooting for permitting systems and online services
- Supporting public meetings, workshops, seminars, and community engagement initiatives as needed
- Collaborating with internal departments to ensure responsive, professional, and consistent service delivery
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain professional and solutions-focused in a high-volume public-facing environment.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2–3 years of administrative or customer service experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong multitasking, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn permitting processes and systems quickly
- Familiarity with permitting software such as OpenGov is a plus
