KEY OBJECTIVE(S):
Babies"R"Us team member will work regularly and engage with Guests to find and sell products that match their needs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Service: Babies"R"Us team member will be familiar and practice STAR when interacting with our Guests.
- Smile - Provide a friendly interaction with our Guests;
- Talk -Engage our Guests by asking them "What you can help them find"
- Approach -Approach and engage all Guests by Greeting and Assisting them and address their needs.
- Rapid - Provide a quick response to address their needs.
Creating an Animated, Appealing Environment
- Lead by example in modeling energetic and engaging Customer service behaviors
- Demonstrating teamwork
- Embracing new products and selling techniques with a positive attitude
- Coaching peers in anticipating customer needs, encouraging purchase and in creating a store atmosphere that is fun!
- Flawlessly executing merchandising standards and marketing events
Providing Leadership
- Supporting the team in building and maintaining a store culture of continuous growth by holding yourself accountable for demonstrating Customer-centric selling behaviors and for individual sales contributions
- Building team morale by celebrating successes
- Partner in new-hire onboarding and in ensuring all team members have the information they need to create a fun in-store experience
- Ensure day-to-day operations including opening/closing store protocols are completed to GO! BRU standard
Analyzing the Business
- Understanding how to assess KPIs and link them to behaviors to make real-time decisions r.e. coaching others
- Quantitatively link the consistent delivery of the Customer experience to the achievement of sales goals
- Clearly and concisely share learnings with Home Office partners, always communicating with a solution-oriented mindset:
- Customer insights regarding product assortment
- Constructive feedback regarding in-store Events and/or visual merchandising/ product presentation
Running a Safe, Profitable and Entertaining Store
- Ensuring all team members remain updated on company policies and store promotions and are competent in maximizing resources to improve Customer and Associate experiences
- Consistently protect company assets through:
- Loss Prevention training and maintaining Loss Prevention protocols
- Maintaining safety standards
- Following company policies
- Managing store supply inventory
- Fill merchandise: Stock shelves at a rate of 20 cartons per hour. Replenishing a shelf, bin or pegged area with stock and transporting merchandise by hand. This also includes picking up loose pieces of merchandise from the floor.
- Remove cardboard: Remove empty cases from the sales floor to the designated discard area, usually in the storeroom. Uses baling machine to consolidate boxes.
- Assist in maintaining a well-stocked and neat store appearance.
- Apply shelf. Manually placing shelf labels on lip below merchandise or scanner peg hooks.
- Box cutter usage: The safe operations of a blade-type instrument designed for opening cased merchandise, as well as returning blade to its non-operational position when not in use.
- Assist when needed to replenish items that are identified as not being on the selling floor.
- Understand and process multichannel functions GFS, GFS ASP, SOS, Layaway and ISPU).
- Return merchandise to the storeroom: Taking merchandise that could not be stocked at the time to the storeroom, transporting either by hand or by flat cart or U-boat.
- Understand basic merchandising protection standards, PORT, key item facing, SFIS.
- Merchandise search: Physical search for merchandise either cased in the storeroom or on perimeter or gondola overstocks.
- Stock inquiries: Telephone calls from Guests inquiring about whether a particular item is in stock.
- May be asked to work in multiple departments to help Guests and the store team to achieve daily results.
- Be familiar with all services offered by Babies"R"Us brands and drive for results when selling these products (e.g., R Rewards, Buyer Protection Plans, R US Credit Cards, etc.)
Qualification/ Basic Job Requirements:
- Must be at lease 17 years of age
- Genuine care for customers and a sense of curiosity to learn about their needs
- Previous retail experience is preferred
- Previous cash handling experience preferred
- Previous guest service experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of computers preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with supervisory staff and buying office
- Basic math skills
- Point of Sale experience preferred
- Interpersonal skills -- working alone and with a team
- Enthusiasm for working in a fun environment and an overall sense of playfulness
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including but not limited to holidays, nights, and weekends
- Ability to manage a sales floor by delegating tasks effectively, ensuring the sales floor remains appropriately stocked and visually merchandised stocked, Associates are Customer-focused and store atmosphere is reflective of Go!/BRU.
