Sr. Director, Contract Strategy, Pricing & Operations

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Director, Contract Strategy, Pricing & Operations based in United States.

This is a senior leadership opportunity focused on shaping pricing, contracting, market access, and government pricing strategy across a growing oncology and hematology portfolio.
The role will lead US pricing and lifecycle strategies while connecting commercial, finance, brand, and market access priorities.
You will oversee complex deal analytics, financial modeling, gross-to-net optimization, and payer contracting frameworks.
A major focus will be ensuring compliant and effective navigation of government pricing programs, 340B requirements, Medicaid models, and state transparency regulations.
You will serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders and cross-functional teams, translating market and policy developments into actionable business decisions.
The position also provides the opportunity to lead a team, manage external partners, and strengthen operational processes in a highly regulated healthcare environment.
Success will come from balancing patient access, commercial performance, profitability, compliance, and long-term portfolio value.

Accountabilities
  • Lead US pricing strategy for key oncology and hematology products, including lifecycle planning, price changes, value benchmarks, and related internal communications and submissions.
  • Develop and oversee quarterly and monthly gross-to-net analyses, financial models, deal analytics, profitability scenarios, rebate structures, and commercial channel assessments.
  • Partner with brand, finance, business development, licensing, and market access teams to develop segment-specific insights and inform pricing and contracting decisions.
  • Establish portfolio-level contracting guardrails and decision frameworks covering payers, GPOs, specialty distributors, specialty pharmacy networks, and large provider organizations.
  • Lead contracting strategy workshops and develop analytics for commercial and Medicare opportunities, including payer-plan forecasts, proposals, and standard contracting templates.
  • Collaborate with account teams to negotiate, implement, and monitor contracting strategies while ensuring effective use of contracting platforms and processes.
  • Develop and manage specialty pharmacy network strategies and performance in alignment with broader brand and market access objectives.
  • Partner with field market access and medical affairs teams to evaluate value-based arrangements and identify opportunities to improve access and outcomes.
  • Lead a team responsible for government pricing and state transparency compliance, ensuring accurate reporting and minimizing regulatory and audit risks.
  • Oversee 340B analyses, Medicaid waterfall models, Federal Supply Schedule renewals, contract adherence, and state-specific price transparency reporting.
  • Monitor pharmaceutical product stewardship requirements, government reporting, rebates, chargebacks, contract documentation, approvals, and other operational activities.
  • Evaluate the commercial and financial implications of healthcare policies and regulatory changes, including Medicare Part D redesign, inflation rebates, and other government pricing proposals.
  • Partner with government affairs teams on policy analysis, public comment initiatives, and advocacy efforts affecting smaller pharmaceutical manufacturers.
  • Translate changes in payer dynamics, reimbursement, regulations, competitive conditions, and market behavior into actionable recommendations and field-enablement materials.
  • Prepare leadership dashboards, presentations, and performance updates while managing consulting partners, budgets, and external data providers.
  • Lead onboarding, development planning, performance reviews, and ongoing management of direct reports while fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, science, economics, finance, or a related discipline; advanced education is a plus.
  • 10+ years of relevant healthcare business experience, ideally spanning market access, pricing, contracting, commercial strategy, or pharmaceutical operations.
  • Significant experience working within oncology or specialty pharmaceutical markets, including small- and large-molecule therapies.
  • Deep understanding of US market access, healthcare delivery, payer dynamics, reimbursement, and the commercial and medical benefit environments.
  • Strong expertise in government pricing, including Medicaid, 340B, Federal Supply Schedule requirements, state transparency, and related compliance considerations.
  • Proven ability to build sophisticated financial models, forecasts, deal analytics, contracting scenarios, and gross-to-net analyses.
  • Strong understanding of payer contracting, GPOs, specialty pharmacy networks, distribution models, and access strategies.
  • Demonstrated negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate complex financial, regulatory, and market information into clear recommendations.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and leading complex initiatives in a highly regulated, fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills, with a strong customer and business-partner orientation.
  • Proven people leadership experience, including developing direct reports, managing external vendors, and building effective cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to operate strategically while maintaining strong attention to operational detail, compliance, and execution.
Benefits
  • Base salary range of $253,000–$305,000.
  • Short- and long-term incentive programs.
  • Fidelity 401(k) plan with a 6% company match.
  • Anthem Premier PPO and HDHP medical insurance options.
  • Company-paid basic life and AD&D insurance.
  • Pre-tax FSA and HSA programs.
  • Opportunities to make a significant impact on pricing, market access, and commercial strategy within a growing oncology-focused business.
  • Senior-level exposure to cross-functional leadership, strategic decision-making, and portfolio development.
  • Inclusive environment with reasonable accommodations available for qualified individuals with disabilities.
