Position Title: Lodge Manager
Organization: Rocky View Foundation (RVF)
Location: Rocky View Lodge, Crossfield, AB
Reports to: Director of Operations
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

The Lodge Manager is responsible for the overall management and operations of a senior’s lodge, ensuring a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for residents. This role involves overseeing staff, coordinating services and activities, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards. The Seniors Lodge Manager plays a critical role in enhancing the quality of life for senior residents through effective management and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Management

Lodge Operations
  • Oversee the daily operations of the senior’s lodge, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards of care and service.
  • Ensure the lodge is well-maintained, safe, and secure for all residents and staff.
Compliance and Safety
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and documentation in accordance with legal and organizational standards.

2. Resident Services

Resident Relations
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with residents and their families.
  • Address resident concerns and complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure residents' needs are met with respect, dignity, and compassion.

3. Staff Management

Leadership and Supervision

  • Recruit, train, and supervise lodge staff, including administrative staff, and support personnel.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Scheduling and Staffing

  • Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and high-quality resident care.
  • Address staffing issues and coordinate with HR for recruitment and retention efforts.

4. Financial Management

Budgeting and Financial Oversight

  • Develop and manage the lodge budget in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement cost-effective measures.
  • Ensure accurate billing and collection of resident fees.

Resource Allocation

  • Ensure efficient use of resources, including staff, supplies, and equipment.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities and grants to support lodge operations and programs.

5. Community Engagement

Partnerships and Collaboration

  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, service providers, and stakeholders.
  • Represent the lodge in community meetings and events to promote awareness and support for the organization.

Advocacy and Outreach

  • Advocate for the needs and interests of senior residents within the community.
  • Coordinate outreach efforts to attract new residents and enhance the lodge's reputation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Social Work, Gerontology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in senior housing management or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of senior care practices, health and safety regulations, and housing management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and management software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanour with a genuine interest in working with seniors.

Monday-Friday: Some Weekends, Evenings/Nights (as operationally required)
