This role requires an energetic and motivated individual to engage with the sales team, design teams, and manufacturing teams to ensure complete and competitive quotes are submitted on time and with the necessary collateral included to ensure advancement of the opportunity toward award. This role is also responsible for leading the ground-level preconstruction tasks with clients as they seek input and feedback for their power generation projects. The ideal candidate will be able to develop a deep understanding of the constraints and capabilities of the design and manufacturing teams and collaborate with other team members to ensure obstacles are overcome in the pursuit of revenue growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Integrate insights and improvements of estimating processes, costing methodologies, and external communication of design intent with customers such that competitive estimates and supporting collateral are completed on time, within a tight timeline, and with little to no rework.
  • Own the coordination and creation of polished customer-facing documentation and presentations during the preconstruction phase of the sales cycle through deep collaboration with the sales, marketing, and product design teams.
  • Lead preconstruction meetings with clients to effectively communicate the company’s design philosophies, champion preferred design approaches, and maximize the value of CI solutions.
  • Drive consistent feedback to the estimating team on product competitiveness, deficits, and/or eroding advantages to enable continuous growth in competitiveness and award of work.
  • Proactively provide continual input and guidance to the design estimating process to optimize design clarity, efficient execution, and minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Engineering, Sourcing and Procurement, and Manufacturing teams to drive efficiency of communication between teams, improve estimate accuracy of both “bid per spec” and “value-engineered” estimates.
  • Clearly document and communicate key areas of consideration for estimating activities through review of product performance specifications and input from the sales team.
  • Maintain the design team’s bid schedule, bid setup, and opportunity pipeline; ensure that new bid opportunities are set up in advance of kickoff and are coordinated with department management in consideration of other priorities.
  • Support project turnover activities as bid opportunities transition from estimating and preconstruction phases to contract award.
  • Ensure processes and procedures for preconstruction and estimating activities are aligned with and executed to the requirements of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 9001 certification.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for the department’s estimating and preconstruction tasks and deliverables.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
