Job Description
Job Summary:
The Source Quality Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the activities of the Source Department staff to ensure that adherence to customer and internal requirements are maintained at all times. The position will support all technical requirements of the Source Department, and be a key component of customer facing/internal facing communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises employees, tasks, and duties related to the Source Department (and quality control in general) within the organization including delegation and scheduling of work, attendance, and performance management, training and professional development
- Manages the performance of the Source staff, ensuring that the Source Department meets organizational objectives. Writes and delivers annual performance reviews, as well as providing consistent feedback throughout the year. Partners with Human Resources department to administer disciplinary or corrective actions.
- Provides direct supervision to a group of employees, assigning tasks and checking work at frequent intervals. Responsibilities include workload and personnel scheduling, performance management, and recommendations for hiring decisions
- Develop, mentor, and coach Source team members daily to increase their skills
- Monitor, assess, and improve incoming inspection, in-process production and assembly performance to ensure requirements are maintained; Continuously improve procedures, processes and methods to ensure quality that meets or exceeds established standards
- Provide effective communication within the company to help support goals (Engineering, Sales, Production)
- Engage in technical customer discussions and help resolve customer concerns
- Perform data analysis as needed
- Lead and participate in projects to support quality department and divisional goals
- Communicate non-compliance and/or imminent risks to appropriate Department Manager and/or Plant leadership immediately to ensure appropriate mitigating actions are implemented
Job Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Demonstrated sound judgment in resolving complex problems, with the ability to make good decisions under pressure when required
- Ability & willingness to effectively train new employees
- Project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines with multiple projects running concurrently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Problem solving & analytical skills
- Strong math skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to establish priorities, delegate and accomplish multiple tasks within required timelines
Education and Experience:
- Minimum Associate’s Degree in Technical or Quality related field
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Quality, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years’ Quality Control experience in a manufacturing company
- Leadership and customer service experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged period of sitting at a desk, working on a computer
- Ability to access all departments within NHBB facilities
