Position Title: PIR Space and Mission Analysis (SpaM) Analyst

What Impact You'll Have

• Deliver space and missile-related OPIR analysis and production that directly informs NASIC's scientific and technical intelligence mission for the USAF, DoD, and national-level intelligence customers
• Provide the phenomenology-based tradecraft that turns raw OPIR sensor data into authoritative intelligence on foreign space and missile activity
• Support both standard production threads and in-depth Space and Mission (SpaM) analytical efforts, contributing technical depth that differentiates NASIC's intelligence products
• Apply signature modeling and target phenomenology expertise to strengthen the community's understanding of electro-optical and infrared target behavior

What You'll Be Owning

• Perform OPIR processed data analysis and production in support of assigned production threads, applying knowledge of remote sensing fundamentals, detection phenomenology, and target phenomenology relevant to each thread
• For In-Depth SpaM Analytical Support: apply detailed knowledge of OPIR sensor phenomenology, remote sensing fundamentals, detection phenomenology, and target phenomenology to produce higher-fidelity, more technically rigorous analysis
• Analyze electro-optical (EO) and infrared (IR) target phenomenology to characterize and assess space and missile events
• Apply community standard signature modeling codes to support target characterization and phenomenology assessments
• Conduct OPIR data analysis and production tied to specific mission threads, ensuring outputs meet NASIC and mission partner requirements
• Translate sensor phenomenology and modeling results into clear analytic products, assessments, and briefings for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Coordinate with sensor operations, PIR exploitation, and other production teams to ensure consistency and technical accuracy across OPIR-derived intelligence products
• Maintain and apply current knowledge of evolving OPIR sensor systems, signature modeling tools, and phenomenology research relevant to assigned production threads

What You Must Have

• Active TS/SCI clearance (or ability to obtain/transfer) required to start
• Bachelor's degree in a related technical/scientific field (Physics, Engineering, Remote Sensing, Astronomy, or similar), or equivalent experience/military-DoD training in lieu of degree
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Knowledge and experience in OPIR processed data analysis and production
• Understanding of remote sensing fundamentals and detection phenomenology
• Understanding of target phenomenology relevant to space and missile production threads
• Strong analytic writing and briefing skills, with ability to produce and present technical intelligence products to NASIC leadership and mission partners
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional production teams in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
• SIPRNet/JWICS experience and familiarity with multi-INT fusion workflows

What Would Be Nice to Have

• Detailed knowledge and experience in OPIR sensor phenomenology, suitable for In-Depth SpaM Analytical Support roles
• Significant experience with community standard signature modeling codes for EO/IR target phenomenology
• Prior experience supporting NASIC, MDA, or another national intelligence/DoD space and missile analysis mission
• Advanced degree (MS) in a relevant technical or scientific discipline
• Familiarity with additional exploitation and modeling tools common to OPIR/GEOINT/MASINT production environments (e.g., ArcGIS, ENVI, SOCET GXP, MATLAB, or similar)
• Prior work on a NOVASTAR, ATEP II, or similar NASIC-supporting contract vehicle
