Summary:
The Fitness Center Receptionist establishes a warm, welcoming atmosphere for Members and their guests while serving as the primary point of contact for the Fitness Center. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer experience, supporting daily operations, and ensuring the highest standards of service, professionalism, and efficiency.
Essential Job Duties:
Member & Guest Experience
- Greet and welcome Members and guests in a friendly, professional manner
- Ensure Members and guests have an exceptional experience during every visit
- Provide accurate information in person, by phone, and via email
- Achieve maximum Member satisfaction through consistent, high-quality service
Reservations & Administrative Support
- Schedule and bill appointments for fitness classes, personal training sessions, and massage therapy
- Create and manage reservations across Club departments, including events, dining, bridge events, racquet sports, and overnight suites
- Post and file charges accurately to Member accounts
- Operate the electronic reservation system and Microsoft Office applications
- Process incoming mail, packages, and messages
- Provide light administrative support as needed
Operations & Club Coordination
- Facilitate switchboard and incoming calls
- Coordinate room status updates with Housekeeping and Maintenance regarding check-outs, special requests, and maintenance needs
- Follow procedures for issuing and closing safe deposit boxes
- Ensure all Club rules and policies are implemented and enforced for Members, guests, and staff
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Fitness Center and reception area
- Prepare and serve fitness shakes, coffee, and light refreshments
- Participate in overall Club maintenance and uphold safety and emergency procedures
- Monitor restricted areas and report underage minors when necessary
- Perform additional tasks and assignments as directed
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous receptionist or front desk experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with electronic reservation systems and Microsoft Office
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Proactive and resourceful problem-solver
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- CPR/AED certification, preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Flexible work schedule preferred (ability to workdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays)
