This role is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) strategy and execution across a multi-site portfolio within a complex, regulated client environment. You will act as the primary EHS authority for the account, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement of safety standards across North American operations. The position combines strategic program leadership with hands-on operational oversight, including incident management, training governance, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with senior client stakeholders and internal leadership teams to strengthen safety culture and drive performance excellence. Managing a small team of EHS professionals, you will also play a critical role in capability building and field execution. This is a high-impact role where your expertise directly influences workplace safety, regulatory adherence, and operational resilience across a large and distributed portfolio.
- Serve as the primary EHS leader for the account, acting as the key liaison with client executives and internal leadership teams on safety performance, risks, and initiatives.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs across multiple sites in North America.
- Lead regulatory compliance efforts by maintaining hazard assessments, PPE standards, and site-specific compliance registers aligned with applicable legislation.
- Manage incident reporting and investigation processes, including root cause analysis, corrective action tracking, and communication of lessons learned.
- Oversee training strategy and execution, including development of training matrices, assignment of mandatory learning, and delivery of safety presentations.
- Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of incidents and safety metrics, including OSHA recordkeeping and administration of incident management systems.
- Support environmental compliance initiatives and broader operational compliance programs in alignment with client and organizational requirements.
- Lead and mentor a small team of EHS professionals while contributing to regional and enterprise-level safety initiatives.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety roles, including prior supervisory or management experience.
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification such as CRSP considered a strong asset.
- Proven ability to manage multi-site EHS programs in complex, regulated environments.
- Strong knowledge of environmental, occupational health, and safety regulations across North America.
- Experience leading incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and client leadership.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing or mentoring EHS teams.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving abilities with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to travel periodically across operational sites (approximately 10–20%).
- Competitive annual salary estimated between CAD $130,000 and $145,000, based on experience and location.
