Job Description

Fosdick Fulfillment has an immediate Inventory/Quality Control Specialist position available on our Monday through Friday shift, 8:00am - 4:30pm,. Hourly pay starts at $20.00 an hour.

POSITION SUMMARY

This role is responsible for maintaining compliance with company standards through manual and systematic quality audits of warehouse inventory, workflows, and documentation. Primary responsibilities include conducting physical inventories, bin location audits, and cycle counts, as well as performing the associated reconciliation and providing recommendations for process adherence and error prevention.


SUPERVISION RECEIVED

This position works under the direction of the Inventory Control Director, Inventory Control Manager, Inventory Control Supervisor, Operations Manager or Warehouse Supervisor.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Consistently punctual, on-site attendance is required. Employees are expected to be at their workstations and ready to work at the scheduled start of their shift and following all breaks.Monitors product transfers between warehouse facilities.Plans, coordinates and oversees Client requested inventoriesSchedules, oversees or personally conducts special and periodic cycle counts. Reviews reporting prior to releasing to Client.Makes necessary inventory adjustments, based on quality of inventory, discrepancies found, etc. Audits the adjustment process to ensure all inventory changes are supported by proper documentation and are justified.Assists in planning, coordinating, and monitoring Client closeout processes. Communication with Client Services, Clients, and other internal departments to discuss quality and inventory issues, initiatives and workorders.Research and review inventory discrepancies, document findings and report to Inventory Control Manager or Inventory Control Supervisor
Perform systematic quality audits on inbound and outbound shipments to verify that receiving, picking and packing processes meet Client-specific and Fosdick quality expectations.Evaluate the integrity of inventory data by conducting bin sweeps and auditing system transactions against physical movements to identify and recommend improvements to eliminate process gaps. Monitor and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the warehouse floor, reporting non-compliance to management and assisting in remedial training if necessary.Ensure warehouse space is used efficiently. Make recommendations for improvements.
    Monitor housekeeping during daily tours, reporting hazards to the warehouse or operations manager and ensuring corrective actions are completed immediately for urgent concerns.
Conduct routine monthly and quarterly compliance walkthroughs and audits to ensure all inventory storage, handling procedures, and warehouse conditions adhere to OSHA standards and internal safety protocols. Ensure all facility records, safety logs, and inventory reports are accurate and accessible.Ability to train on and operate Powered Industrial Trucks to assist with physical inventories. (Effective April 2019, all existing grandfather into role)
    Performs inventory audits with clients after physical inventories have concluded.
Available to work overtime, as needed, due to physical inventories. This may include staying late after shifts or coming in on weekends and/or holidays and adhering to the company Blackout Calendar.Assists, when necessary, with other production, warehouse and/or inventory related work as required by Supervisor and/or Manager.
    Complies with safety rules and regulations


QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a High School diploma or the equivalent and three to five years’ experience and/or training in warehousing/inventory control/quality control, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced computer literacy required, including intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, or conditional formatting) and the ability to effectively utilize Outlook and Word for cross-departmental communication with a strong emphasis on Excel for data tracking, inventory reconciliation, and reporting. Candidate should be comfortable using intermediate formulas and formatting to manage large datasets. Must be proficient in mathematics and writing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work is conducted in typical warehouse surroundings. Some moderately uncomfortable elements might be present such as heat, cold, dust. Work is fast paced and involves pressures of meeting delivery commitments and responding to changing priorities.
