The Pharmacy Associate (Cashier) supports pharmacy operations by accurately processing register transactions, assisting customers, and maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and company policies. This role provides courteous customer service, handles payments and insurance prompts, and works closely with pharmacy staff to ensure efficient workflow and positive patient experience.
Responsibilities:
- Process pharmacy registers transactions accurately, including case, credit, and insurance-related prompts
- Greet and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and pharmacy policies
- Handle prescription pickups following proper identification and verification procedures
- Answer basic questions and direct patients to pharmacy staff when appropriate
- Maintain accuracy when handling payments, receipts, and returns
- Keep the pharmacy counter area clean, organized, and stocked with supplies
- Communicate effectively with pharmacists and technicians to support workflow
- Follow safety, security, and loss-prevention procedures
- Report discrepancies, issues, or concerns to pharmacy leadership
- Responsibility of overseeing the Counter Inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
- Previousexperience in retail or pharmacy
- Basic math skills and comfortable with handling money
- High School Diploma or GEDrequired.
Physical Demands:
- Standing for extended periods whileassistingcustomers,operatingthe register, and supporting pharmacy operations
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Frequent walking within the pharmacy and front store areas
- Reaching, bending, and light lifting (e.g., handling merchandise, prescription bags, or supplies)
- Repetitive hand and wrist movements for scanning items, typing, and handling payments
- Clear verbal communication with customers and pharmacy staff

Work schedule will vary based on needs of the business. Hours will be during these time frames: Monday-Friday 8:00am-6:00pm and Saturday 8:00am-1:00pm
