Job Description

Director of Product, Subscriber Value

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Product, Subscriber Value based in United States.

This is a director-level individual contributor role responsible for shaping the strategy that delivers meaningful value to subscribers while accelerating subscription growth.
You will own membership portfolio architecture, pricing, packaging, freemium features, and premium partner offerings across a large-scale consumer product.
The role combines strategic product leadership with hands-on execution across engineering, design, analytics, machine learning, finance, and business development.
You will identify opportunities to increase subscriber satisfaction, revenue per membership, and the long-term value of paid memberships.
You will lead experimentation and use data, AI, and rapid validation to turn customer insights into measurable product outcomes.
As a senior product leader, you will influence executive-level decisions and establish the direction for one of the organization’s highest-leverage product areas.
This is an AI-native environment where modern tooling is embedded into research, analysis, prototyping, financial modeling, experimentation, and product delivery.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the subscriber value strategy, including membership portfolio architecture, tier design, bundling and unbundling decisions, and the balance between internally developed and partner-powered offerings.
  • Define and execute the subscriber value roadmap, including freemium features designed to increase measurable customer value and satisfaction.
  • Develop strategies to grow revenue per membership while determining when incremental monetization is appropriate versus when deeper tier value should be prioritized.
  • Lead the portfolio of premium services delivered through third-party partners, from opportunity identification and partner selection through launch, performance management, and ongoing growth.
  • Own pricing and packaging strategy, including price architecture, promotional and discount approaches, and the execution of pricing changes across app stores and web billing platforms.
  • Build compelling business cases for pricing and packaging changes and guide initiatives through executive-level review and approval.
  • Establish a strong culture of experimentation, using data science, AI, and rapid validation methods to test ideas and accelerate learning.
  • Operate as an AI-native product leader by embedding AI into research, decision-making, product specifications, experimentation, reporting, and day-to-day workflows.
  • Create reusable AI-driven processes and artifacts that increase team leverage and help establish effective practices for AI-native product management.
  • Advocate for subscriber value across the organization and represent the product strategy with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in consumer product management, including at least 5 years owning subscription monetization at scale, ideally within a business with millions of paying subscribers and direct accountability for revenue outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success developing subscription strategies that generated business growth and launching features that delivered measurable value and improved subscriber satisfaction.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with pricing and packaging, including successfully implementing price increases, repackaging initiatives, or comparable monetization changes.
  • Proven experience delivering product initiatives through commercial partnerships, including revenue-share or embedded integrations that increased product value.
  • Deep knowledge of mobile subscription mechanics, including App Store and Google Play architecture, proration, mid-cycle upgrades, refunds, cancellations, web billing, and global subscription regulations.
  • Strong command of subscription unit economics, including lifetime value, gross margin, customer acquisition cost, cohort retention, and contribution per member, with the ability to build and stress-test financial models.
  • Director-level strategic experience setting multi-quarter direction across a portfolio of products or surfaces, making prioritization decisions, and managing constrained resources.
  • Strong analytical, commercial, and product judgment, with the ability to translate customer needs and business opportunities into measurable outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience using current AI tools for research, analysis, financial modeling, product specifications, prototyping, analytics, experimentation, and reporting.
  • Ability to critically review and take full accountability for AI-generated outputs while using AI to increase speed, leverage, and product impact.
  • Willingness to share effective AI practices, improve team workflows, and continuously learn as AI tooling evolves.
  • Strong customer empathy and an understanding of how monetization decisions can affect trust, particularly when building products that support families and their safety.
Benefits
  • US base salary range of $201,000–$294,000 USD, with final compensation determined based on relevant background, knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
  • Total compensation includes equity in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, financial, and other employee benefits.
  • Life and disability insurance coverage, with medical, dental, and supplemental options.
  • 401(k) plan with company matching.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Mental Wellness Program and Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Flexible paid time off, companywide holidays, and summer and winter shutdown periods.
  • Learning and development programs to support continued professional growth.
  • Equipment, tools, and reimbursement support for a productive remote work environment.
  • Remote-first working environment, with the role designed to be performed remotely within the United States.
  • Complimentary premium membership and connected tracking-device benefits.
