General Job Summary:

Manually or automatically places threaded hardware into sheet metal to produce finished or in-process piece.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow all safety processes and procedures prescribed for the job.
• Reviews Material Process Control Document (MPCD) for understanding of the job.
• Inserts part and hardware into PEM serter and activates the machine.
• Removes finished part and visually inspects.
• Conducts more detailed inspection per MPCD using appropriate gauges.
• Records inspection data
• Packages parts per MPCD
• Returns parts, paperwork to appropriate area.
• Returns unused hardware to inventory storage.
• Cleans machine parts and work area.
• Assists with other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Experience

1-2 years related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Requirements:

Comprehension of written instructions. Understanding and ability to use inspection gauges (thread gauge, micrometers, height stand, pins).

Computer Skills:

None required.

Language Skills:

Intermediate Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Associates of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Basic Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate.

Reasoning Ability:

Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
