The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Overview:

Leadership staff position responsible for building relationships with, and securing six, seven- and eight-figure principal gifts from, high net worth individuals in support of the medical center s most significant priorities.

Helps identify leading philanthropic prospects and engages them with trustees, physicians and capital campaign volunteer leadership.

  • Familiar with all facets of development, especially capital campaigns and portfolio management, data management, and skilled at guiding and mentoring other gift officers.
  • Works closely with the Regional Vice President of Development for MMC and MMCSC and the major gifts team of Monmouth Medical Center to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors to achieve annual fundraising targets based on metrics with consistent focus and high-touch engagement;
  • Specifically, develops and manages a portfolio of significant donors ($1M+) including devising strategies, cultivation opportunities, solicitation plans and ongoing stewardship;
  • Devises and implements effective, creative and tailored strategies to elicit the interest of a targeted cohort of ongoing and new potential supporters and high-net-worth individuals;
  • Leads high-level solicitations and negotiates complex or blended gift structures;
  • Builds and nurtures effective working relationships with Monmouth Medical Center trustees, other lay leaders, and the hospital s executive leadership team;
  • Ensures high-quality and sustained recognition and stewardship for major donors;
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the CRM database, documenting all interactions and activities related to principal gifts,
  • Helps to enlist and train physicians and nurses in identifying gratitude among patients, and encouraging their interest in philanthropic participation;
  • Interacts with the medical centers department chairs, key physicians and other administrators to determine potential fund-raising priorities, and helps shape them into opportunities that may be presented to donors;
  • Collaborates with a growing major gifts team composed of Campaign Director, Regional Gift Officer, and Development Director to close complex, high-impact donations;
  • As part of the MMC development team, participates in related activities and projects as needed;
  • May perform other duties as assigned by the Regional Vice President of Development of MMC and MMCSC.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven track record of more than 7 years of high-level fundraising, with experience closing six, seven and eight figure gifts.
  • Deep understanding of major gift cycles, capital campaigns, and philanthropic trends.
  • Proven ability to navigate large, complex matrixed organizations and translate organizational priorities (research, capital projects, special initiatives) into donor aligned cases for support.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data, identify trends and develop sophisticated donor strategies.
  • Excellent organization skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines.
  • Exceptional listening, verbal and written skills for crafting compelling proposals and presentations that align donor interests with organizational strategic priorities.
  • Ability to negotiate gift agreements and manage complex donor expectations.
  • Experience with donor databases.
  • Understanding of HPAA sensitive environments for donor engagement.
  • Commitment to excellence and ethical fundraising.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Mission driven, self-motivated individual with a positive attitude.
  • Bachelor s degree required; advanced degree in related field is preferred.
