Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior QA Automation Developer, Integrations based in Canada.
This is a remote-first opportunity for a senior QA automation specialist focused on building scalable quality engineering practices for major platform and integration programs. You will play a key role in expanding automation coverage across UI and API layers while helping ensure reliable end-to-end quality. Working closely with developers, architects, product managers, delivery leaders, and QA specialists, you will influence quality strategy throughout the SDLC. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical collaboration and advisory responsibilities, with approximately 80% coding and 20% collaboration depending on project needs. You will adapt and extend established automation frameworks rather than rebuild them from scratch. The environment is fast-paced, Agile, highly collaborative, and focused on continuous delivery, automation, and practical use of AI.
- Architect, develop, maintain, and scale automated end-to-end test suites using Playwright and appropriate test design patterns.
- Adapt and extend existing automation frameworks to support major enterprise integration and platform initiatives.
- Build comprehensive automated coverage across UI and API layers, using tools such as Postman for API validation.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines so quality checks run continuously alongside development.
- Partner with architects, developers, product managers, delivery teams, and QA specialists throughout the SDLC to clarify requirements and establish effective acceptance criteria.
- Define comprehensive test plans based on product and design specifications, including URDs, PRDs, and HLDs.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for major initiatives, including new partner and client integrations.
- Review and execute manual test cases when required, validating functionality against test plans and incorporating relevant scenarios into automated regression suites.
- Use monitoring signals, incident reviews, and customer feedback to identify quality gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with delivery leadership and stakeholders to prioritize automation coverage according to business and technical priorities.
- Promote scalable QA practices, documentation, workflows, and standards that can be adopted across teams.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate test development and maintenance, while sharing effective approaches and practices with colleagues.
- Take ownership of overall product quality, contributing beyond test execution to continuous improvement and quality strategy.
- 5+ years of QA experience testing SaaS, cloud-based, or comparable software applications, with strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks using Playwright, Cypress, or similar technologies.
- Strong experience with TypeScript and/or Go.
- Demonstrated automation-first experience, with a track record of building reliable automated coverage rather than relying primarily on manual testing.
- Experience with end-to-end testing across both UI and API layers.
- Practical API testing experience with tools such as Postman.
- Strong understanding of test architecture and scalable automation patterns, including Page Object Model, data factories, and separation of concerns.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working within rapid release cycles.
- Familiarity with test management platforms such as Allure TestOps is desirable.
- Experience in SaaS, fintech, banking, insurance, or other financial services environments is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business and product requirements into meaningful, risk-based test coverage.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to work directly with technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to proactively recommend quality strategies and solutions rather than waiting for direction.
- Strong ownership, initiative, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using AI tools to improve testing workflows is highly valued; experience building AI agents or applications for testing is an additional advantage.
- Comfortable working collaboratively across teams and influencing quality practices beyond your immediate responsibilities.
- Remote-first position open to candidates anywhere in Canada.
- Preference for candidates able to work Eastern Time hours.
- Comprehensive extended health, dental, and vision coverage, including 100% drug coverage.
- $1,500 annual Health & Wellness Spending Account.
- 4 weeks of vacation plus 8 personal floater days.
- Group RRSP/DPSP retirement savings plan with competitive employer matching contributions.
- Telemedicine services through Dialogue.
- Coverage for licensed practitioner services.
- Maternity and parental leave top-up programs.
- Inclusive, collaborative, and technology-driven work environment.
- Opportunities to work on large-scale platform and integration initiatives with significant business impact.
- Exposure to modern automation, CI/CD, cloud technologies, and practical AI applications.
