Task Order Project Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Task Order Project Manager based in the United States.

This role provides project and contract leadership across complex government IT initiatives supporting a major federal agency.
You will oversee teams of technology and information management professionals across multiple projects and locations.
The position combines strategic planning with hands-on management of day-to-day contract support operations.
You will coordinate project planning, execution, documentation, integration, testing, and implementation activities.
Strong leadership and communication will be essential for aligning teams, stakeholders, and contract deliverables.
The role offers an opportunity to influence large-scale technology programs within a structured public-sector environment.
It is well suited to an experienced IT or consulting leader with strong program management and acquisition expertise.

Accountabilities
  • Lead the successful delivery of task-order projects involving data processing, information management, IT, and telecommunications professionals.
  • Manage day-to-day contract support operations, potentially across multiple projects, teams, and geographic locations.
  • Organize, direct, and coordinate the planning and execution of contract support activities and project deliverables.
  • Provide leadership across activities including analysis, design, systems integration, testing, documentation, conversion, extension, and implementation of automated information and telecommunications systems.
  • Establish and maintain an effective management structure to support efficient contract execution and team performance.
  • Coordinate personnel and resources to ensure projects remain aligned with contractual requirements, timelines, and objectives.
  • Analyze source documentation and support the development of acquisition and project documentation.
  • Apply knowledge of the federal Information Technology Acquisition process and its key milestones.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and other stakeholders through both written and verbal channels.
  • Monitor overall project performance and address operational challenges to maintain successful contract support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Project or Program Management certification, such as PMP or another recognized equivalent certification.
  • At least 5 years of experience in program management.
  • At least 10 years of leadership experience with progressively increasing responsibility in public- and/or private-sector IT or consulting environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and complex technology initiatives, potentially across multiple locations.
  • Experience with the Information Technology Acquisition process and its associated milestones.
  • Experience analyzing diverse source documentation and supporting the development of acquisition-related documentation.
  • Strong project planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish effective management structures, coordinate diverse teams, and drive successful delivery in a government contracting environment.
  • Strong understanding of IT project and program management practices, with the ability to balance strategic oversight and operational execution.
