Wages
$16 per hour, depending on qualifications and level of experience.

Schedule
This internship will consist of 10 hours per week between the hours of 2-7pm Monday through Thursday; this is flexible depending on candidate needs. The internship will continue until May 2027.
Job Summary
The Capri Best Buy Teen Tech Center Mentor Internship is a paid leadership opportunity for current or former Teen Tech Center members who have completed the Career Pathways Program. As a peer mentor, you'll support programming, encourage member engagement, and help create a welcoming environment while building valuable skills in leadership, communication, teamwork, and career readiness.
Responsibilities
Peer Mentorship and Youth Engagement
- Welcome, encourage, and engage Teen Tech Center members in a positive and inclusive environment.
- Serve as a peer mentor and positive role model for younger and/or newer TTC members.
- Build supportive relationships with members and encourage consistent participation.
- Help members explore their interests and develop confidence in technology and creative learning.
- Encourage members to participate in TTC programs, activities, workshops, and projects.
- Model positive communication, teamwork, respect, and professional behavior.
Tech Skill Development and Program Support
- Share and develop activities surrounding your personal expertise or interests around technology in the Tech Center space.
- Provide peer-to-peer assistance with technology projects, creative activities, and digital tools.
- Assist with demonstrations, activities, and projects as assigned by TTC staff.
Administration, Communication, and Other Duties
- Communicate regularly with BBTTC supervisor regarding activities, challenges, accomplishments, and member engagement.
- Complete required timesheets, forms, reflections, or other internship documentation.
- Track and communicate participation in assigned activities as requested.
- Assist with special events, presentations, showcases, and other TTC activities.
Leadership and Professional Development
- Practice professional communication, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving.
- Participate in staff meetings, intern check-ins, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Respond constructively to feedback from supervisors and TTC staff.
- Demonstrate reliability, initiative, accountability, and a willingness to learn.
What You Bring
- Current or former Capri Best Buy Teen Tech Center member preferred.
- Must be an alumnus/alumna of the CBBTTC Career Pathways program.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in technology, digital media, creative arts, gaming, coding, music, photography, robotics, or another TTC-related area.
- Ability and willingness to work with peers and younger youth in a positive and supportive manner.
- Previous leadership, mentoring, volunteer, school, community, or youth program experience preferred but not required.
- Strong interest in technology and/or creative learning.
- Ability to share knowledge and skills with peers in an encouraging and patient manner.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with youth, staff, volunteers, and community partners.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and willingness to take initiative.
- Dependable, responsible, respectful, and willing to learn.
- Ability to accept feedback and adapt accordingly.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive Teen Tech Center environment.

- Valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet PCYC’s driving record requirements.
