The Capital Preparatory Schools has four schools in five locations: one in Harlem, NY, one in the Bronx, one in New Rochelle, New York, and two locations in Bridgeport, Connecticut providing students in grades K–12 with a year-round, college-preparatory education that encourages students to become scholars and agents of change.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for full-cycle recruitment.

  • Compile and maintain employee records including confidential and sensitive employee information.

  • Complete background checks for all employees.

  • Lead open enrollment and oversee benefit packages.

  • Analyzes workforce data, staffing trends, employee relations issues, and organizational needs and develops recommendations supporting district goals and operational effectiveness.

  • Guide instructional staff through the New York State certification process.

  • Monitors compliance with federal and state employment laws, regulations, reporting requirements, Board policies, and administrative procedures.

  • Assist with the implementation of wellness programs, benefits programs, employee engagement initiatives, and analy

  • Assist with compliance related matters.

  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Chief Talent Officer.

Skills & Qualifications

  • A graduate of a Bachelor’s degree program (required), with prior experience in a charter school environment (preferred).

  • Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources or Recruitment experience.

  • A highly ethical professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to keep sensitive information confidential.

  • Ability to multitask works collaboratively and maintains focus in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

Salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. Additionally, CPS offers a comprehensive benefits package. This is a twelve month, full-time, exempt position.


*Weekend or evening work and travel is required.
