Registered Nurse (RN), Surgical Day Care, Emerson Hospital, Concord, MA

Join our Surgical Day Care team and play a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing same-day surgical procedures. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you’ll provide both pre-operative and post-operative care, helping patients safely prepare for surgery and recover with confidence before returning home the same day.

You’ll work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment alongside surgeons, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary care teams—where your clinical expertise and voice truly matter.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver comprehensive pre- and post-surgical nursing care for same-day surgery patients
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia staff, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Monitor patient status and respond to clinical changes with sound judgment
  • Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery at home
  • Ensure all care aligns with hospital standards, regulatory requirements, and professional nursing guidelines
  • Maintain accountability for the safety and quality of care you provide or delegate

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience required
  • Experience in CCU, ED, or PACU strongly preferred

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Healthcare Provider certification required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
  • PALS required
  • IV Certification preferred

  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and basic computer systems
  • Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
