Bright Ideas Childcare – Plymouth, MA
Part-Time, Afternoon Schedule (Monday–Friday 1:00–6:00 PM • No Nights • No Weekends)
Opportunity for additional hours and future full-time growth
$18–$22 per hour, depending on experience

We're looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Facilities Coordinator for daily cleaning, organization, laundry, and facility support throughout our childcare center. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, has an eye for detail, and understands that a clean, organized environment helps children and teachers thrive.

Position Summary
The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for the daily cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the childcare center. This includes maintaining clean classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, common areas, staff spaces, and storage areas.
Although this isn't a classroom position, you'll be an important part of our school community and will interact with children, families, and staff throughout the day.
Responsibilities
Daily Cleaning & Sanitation
- Clean and disinfect the center bathrooms
- Empty trash throughout the building and replace liners
- Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces, including tables, door handles, light switches, and sinks.
- Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors throughout the center
- Follow center cleaning procedures using approved products and equipment that meet EEC health and safety requirements
- Assist classrooms with end-of-day cleanup and organization
Laundry & Organization
- Wash, dry, fold, and put away classroom laundry
- Organize storage areas and ensure supplies are stored safely and neatly
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning products and paper goods
- Notify management when supplies need to be reordered
- Receive, stock, and organize deliveries
Facility Support
- Clean and sanitize toys and play equipment on a rotating schedule
- Assist with special cleaning and organization projects
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment that meets EEC and Bright Ideas Childcare standards
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to management
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who:
- Takes pride in maintaining clean, organized, and welcoming spaces
- Is dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Is comfortable working in an active childcare environment
- Maintains confidentiality and professionalism in a school setting
- Demonstrates honesty, reliability, and strong attention to detail
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Requirements
- Complete a suitable Massachusetts EEC Background Record Check
- Willing to learn and follow EEC regulations related to health, safety, supervision, and sanitation
- Previous cleaning, custodial, facilities, housekeeping, school, or childcare experience is preferred but not required
- We are happy to train the right person who is dependable, eager to learn, and takes pride in their work.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently bend, lift, reach, push, pull, and carry items throughout the day
- Lift up to 40 pounds
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Perform repetitive cleaning tasks
Schedule
This position offers approximately 25 hours per week between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Consistent weekday schedule — no nights, weekends, or holidays at our primary location.
Additional hours may be available for candidates interested in providing cleaning support at our second location. These hours can typically be completed after operating hours, offering an opportunity to increase weekly hours and earnings.
