OVERVIEW:
As a full time, International Business Compliance Analyst, you will enjoy the opportunity to work with corporate and regional based accounting, tax, information technology, sales, and operational leadership while ensuring compliance with international digital reporting requirements and related regulations to support the growth initiatives of Fastenal's world-wide locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Identifying, researching, and evaluating potential risks and regulatory changes related to digital reporting requirements and data compliance
o Preparing summaries, including organizational impact and risk analysis, on existing and upcoming regulatory issues
o Communicating regulatory changes to management and other stakeholders
o Engaging with the process owner and IT to align on interpretation and implementation of agreed upon actions within an acceptable timeline
o Working with information technology, indirect tax, finance, regional accounting teams, and others to implement required changes to system(s) and or business processes so that Fastenal may meet and maintains compliance in focus area(s)
o Participating in development projects during all the phases of planning, testing, and implementation
o Reviewing policies, procedures, accounting documents, and training materials to identify and remediate risk
o Ensuring effective controls are developed and maintained to support international regulations and initiatives
o Creating and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support business processes and controls. Providing employee training on compliance policies and related SOPs
o Facilitating and coordinating effective communication between and across key stakeholders to enable efficient execution of program goals
o Organizing and leading assigned program-related meetings, including the creation of agendas, materials, and minutes
o Providing ongoing support for electronic invoicing related to complex error management and new schema requirements, based on assigned country or region
o Engaging with third party services as needed to support Fastenal's Digital Reporting Requirements and data compliance solutions

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The skills and qualifications for this position include:
o Possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Analytics, Business Law or related degree OR have relevant work experience in accounting, tax, law, and/or project management
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
o Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented
o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning, research, and analytical skills
o Demonstrate strong organizational, planning and prioritizing abilities
o Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
o Ability to monitor tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes
o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
o Ability to pass the required drug test (applicable in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o Experience using PeopleSoft or other similar ERP system(s)
o Experience with Digital Reporting Requirements such as electronic invoicing, RTIR, SAF-T, and VAT returns
o Experience with large regional or global data programs
o Proven project management experience in multi-phase systems design, development and implementation
