Senior HR Generalist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior HR Generalist based in the United States.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to play a key role in shaping and supporting a fast-growing organization during a period of rapid expansion. In this hands-on position, you will oversee core HR operations while partnering closely with leadership to strengthen people programs, compliance, employee relations, and operational excellence. You will contribute to both day-to-day execution and long-term HR strategy, helping create scalable processes that support business growth. The role offers significant ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and the chance to influence the employee experience across the entire lifecycle. Accountabilities
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, employment changes, leave administration, and HR systems maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. employment regulations by maintaining policies, coordinating required training, monitoring compliance calendars, and supporting multi-state employment requirements.
  • Administer employee benefits, partner with external providers, and maintain accurate HR documentation and records.
  • Support compensation and total rewards initiatives, including offer preparation, benchmarking, and collaboration with finance and legal stakeholders.
  • Handle employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion, including performance improvement plans, accommodations, conflict resolution, separation processes, and documentation.
  • Partner with managers to support performance management, coaching, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Assist with recruiting coordination, onboarding transitions, employee engagement initiatives, HR reporting, and continuous improvement of people programs and processes.
  • Maintain data integrity across HR systems while identifying opportunities to improve workflows, automation, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
  • 5–8 years of Human Resources Generalist experience, including at least 2 years supporting a startup or high-growth technology company.
  • Hands-on experience working within a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) environment such as Justworks, Rippling, or a comparable platform.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment law and experience managing compliance across multiple states.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear documentation, policies, and employee communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion, professionalism, and emotional intelligence.
  • Experience supporting employee relations matters and collaborating with legal teams is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with AI productivity tools, HR workflow automation, or scripting solutions is considered an advantage.
  • Experience maintaining HR documentation, reporting, and digital file organization.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, problem-solving abilities, and the confidence to balance independent decision-making with appropriate escalation.
