Pet Emergency & Referral Center (PERC) is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to join our Emergency team in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. This is an opportunity for a Veterinary Technician who enjoys fast-paced emergency medicine, hands-on patient care, critical thinking, and working alongside experienced emergency veterinarians and board-certified specialists.
Compensation- Competitive pay based on experience
- Additional $4/hour shift differential on weekends
- Additional $4/hour shift differential from 10:00 PM–6:00 AM every night
- LVT/CVT/RVT credential preferred but not required

- 12:00 PM–12:00 AM

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will provide hands-on nursing care and technical support for emergency and hospitalized patients in a busy 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital.
- Triage emergency patients and assist with critical patient assessments, monitor hospitalized and critically ill patients, prioritize patient needs based on condition and urgency
- Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters, administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians, perform in-house laboratory testing and diagnostic procedures, assist with emergency procedures and surgery, monitor anesthesia and safely recover patients
- Collaborate with emergency veterinarians, board-certified specialists, Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and other hospital team members, communicate patient updates, diagnostic findings, and concerns with veterinarians and the medical team, maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation
- Provide compassionate support and clear communication to clients during stressful situations
- Cross-train throughout the hospital and continue developing advanced technical skills, participate in mentorship, continuing education, and ongoing clinical training
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in veterinary medicine required, prior Veterinary Technician experience required
- LVT, CVT, or RVT credential preferred, but not required
- Emergency or critical care experience preferred
- Comfortable prioritizing and triaging emergency cases, understanding of veterinary nursing and patient care
- Calm under pressure with strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, able to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency and specialty environment
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and team-focused, strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passionate about learning and providing exceptional patient care, flexible and willing to cross-train throughout the hospital
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
