Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: The Local Area Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative, compliance, and operational support across multiple early childhood education sites. This role partners closely with OVEC Leadership and Local Area Manager (LAM) to ensure centers operate efficiently, remain compliant with all regulatory requirements, and maintain high-quality program standards. This position plays a critical role in supporting daily center operations, staff coordination, and documentation management. Classroom support is an essential function of this role and is required to maintain appropriate staffing levels, ensure compliance with teacher/child ratios, and support continuity of care.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED is required
- Two years of experience working in a childcare, secretarial, or administrative assistant setting is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, early childhood education, or related field
- Familiarity with Head Start/Early Head Start programs, Performance Standards, and CACFP/CCAP
- Experience with data management systems such as ChildPlus
COMPENSATION:
- Applicants will be evaluated on education and experience depending on verified years of experience and educational level. High school diploma range begins at $19.28 and a bachelors degree begins at 23.13.
