Program Specialist

Description

  • On a regular basis, monitor Federal grant recipients and collaborate with team members, external organizations, Federal departments, and the general public.
  • Serve as the focal point, coordinator, and advisor to assigned grant recipients to ensure interpretation and implementation of the legislation, policy provisions, and other requirements.
  • Develop written communications/ technical reports and respond to inquiries regarding the program and Federal collaborative effort, as assigned.
  • Provide written materials for special events to heighten awareness of programs, including information on implementation, data collection, and evaluation efforts.
  • Participate in up to six (6) on-site monitoring trips of grant recipients and subrecipients, as assigned.
  • May be required to work on-site at least once a week.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral or social science with two (2) years of experience.
  • At least one year of specialized experience providing guidance and technical assistance to state, local, or federally funded early childhood education, social or behavioral science programs;
  • A minimum of two years of performing programmatic oversight of state, local, or federally funded early childhood education, social or behavioral science programs;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the administration of discretionary grants is preferred;
  • Demonstrated ability in utilizing a variety of web-based and off the shelf data management software packages.
  • Demonstrated ability to review, aggregate, and present data gathered from multiple sources;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, and produce high quality written products such as memoranda, presentations, and correspondence.

  • Compensation Range: The salary range provided is determined by market value, internal equity, and the candidate's experience and qualifications. Offers will be extended within this range, though not all candidates will receive an offer at the upper limit.
