The Evergreen School, an independent school serving highly capable students in preschool through 8th grade, is currently accepting applications for a Digital Media & Content Manager.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Evergreen School seeks a creative, collaborative, and enthusiastic Digital Media & Content Manager to help tell the story of our vibrant school community. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled content creator who enjoys photography, video, social media, and storytelling and wants to be part of a joyful, student-centered environment.
Working closely with the Director of Communications, the Digital Media & Content Manager will spend significant time immersed in the life of the school, capturing authentic moments, highlighting student experiences, and creating engaging content that connects families, prospective families, alumni, and the broader community to Evergreen. This role combines content creation and social media management with support for key school communications, including newsletters, website updates, and internal communications platforms.
The ideal candidate is a strong visual storyteller who enjoys building community through digital media and is excited to share the curiosity, creativity, and sense of belonging that define the Evergreen experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Digital Content Creation & Social Media
- Manage Evergreen's social media presence across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.
- Create engaging content including photography, short-form video, graphics, captions, stories, and reels.
- Capture and share meaningful moments from classrooms, performances, outdoor education, athletics, events, and community celebrations.
- Maintain and execute a social media content calendar in partnership with the Director of Communications and colleagues across the school.
- Monitor social media engagement and help foster a positive and welcoming online presence.
- Photography, Video & Storytelling
- Serve as the school's primary day-to-day photographer and content creator.
- Capture high-quality photos and video for social media, newsletters, the website, admissions, development, and other communications needs.
- Partner with faculty and staff to identify compelling stories and gather classroom content.
- Create feature stories and community spotlights that highlight the Evergreen experience.
- Organize and maintain digital photo and video assets, including tracking and honoring media permissions for students.
- Communications Support
- Maintain the school's all-school calendar through the content management system.
- Update website content and internal communication platforms.
- Support content needs for enrollment management, development, and community events.
- Assist with feature stories, photography, and content development for Evergreen's annual magazine.
- Analytics & Administrative Support
- Track social media performance and basic digital engagement metrics.
- Assist with communications reporting and project coordination.
- Provide support for school-wide communications and marketing initiatives and events.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture through teamwork and shared responsibility.
- Participate in relevant school meetings, professional development, and community events.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

- Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred in communications, marketing, journalism, digital media, visual communications, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- 2–5 years of experience in digital content creation, social media management, communications, marketing, or a related field.
- Experience creating content for social media platforms, including photography, video, and graphic design.
- Experience working in education, nonprofit, mission-driven, or community-centered organizations is preferred but not required.
- Skills and Abilities
- Strong photography skills and an eye for visual storytelling.
- Experience creating and editing short-form video content for social media.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar creative tools.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort learning new technologies and digital platforms.
- Experience with content management systems and social media analytics tools is preferred.

Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds in connection with job duties
- Ability to stand, sit, and move comfortably throughout classrooms and school hallways for extended periods
- Ability to climb stairs, navigate uneven surfaces, and escort students as needed between locations within and outside school buildings
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including inclement weather.
- Evening and weekend work may be required at times
Position Details:
This is a non-exempt, year round, full-time, benefits-eligible position. The salary range for this position is $72,000 to $84,000 per year, depending on degree(s) and years of experience.
