The Senior Technical Consultant will serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers maximize the value of enterprise GIS solutions through strategic guidance, implementation support, and technical expertise. This role requires strong customer engagement skills, the ability to translate business needs into technology solutions, and experience delivering complex technical projects.
- Collaborate with customers and partners to identify, design, and validate key GIS workflows using enterprise platforms and technologies.
- Provide technical guidance, architecture recommendations, and best practices to help customers implement innovative GIS solutions.
- Identify opportunities where location intelligence can improve operational workflows and deliver measurable business value.
- Develop and deliver advanced technical demonstrations and presentations to stakeholders across diverse customer organizations.
- Work closely with customer IT teams to align technical objectives, business requirements, and enterprise technology strategies.
- Independently execute project activities, deliver consulting services, and implement solutions while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
- Expand expertise across GIS software capabilities, industry workflows, and emerging technology patterns.
- Support defense and intelligence customers by enabling data-driven decisions through advanced mapping, analytics, and location-based technologies.
The ideal candidate is a senior GIS and technology professional with extensive experience designing enterprise solutions, advising customers, and implementing complex technical environments. They should have strong analytical skills, customer-facing experience, and the ability to operate in mission-focused environments.
- 8+ years of professional experience in a similar technical consulting, GIS engineering, or enterprise solutions role.
- Experience designing, implementing, and administering enterprise GIS solutions using modern GIS platforms.
- Strong knowledge of GIS capabilities including mapping, field operations, spatial analysis, data science, 3D visualization, analytics, data management, and developer APIs.
- Ability to design and recommend solutions that demonstrate the business value of GIS technology, particularly within defense and intelligence environments.
- Advanced platform configuration skills and experience managing enterprise GIS deployments.
- Strong programming and scripting experience with Python, Arcade, HTML, and/or JavaScript.
- Experience modeling and managing logical and topological network data.
- System administration experience with Windows environments.
- Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, geographic information systems, or another STEM-related field.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with customers, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications include:
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Master’s degree in geography, computer science, mathematics, GIS, or a related STEM discipline.
- Experience supporting defense and intelligence content workflows.
- Knowledge of service-oriented architectures, cloud computing, and modern technology implementation patterns.
- Experience with Linux, Kubernetes, and enterprise infrastructure administration.
- Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
- Understanding of databases, web services, webhooks, mobile device configurations, web browsers, and enterprise IT architecture concepts.
- Competitive base salary range of $107,120 - $183,040 USD.
