Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join the Department of Psychiatry. The ideal candidate will have a track record of clinical accomplishments in the treatment of patients with serious mental illness. In this role the NP will provide services including but not limited to the following:
- Medication management with adult, adolescent, and child patients of the MHRH MHOTRS program, on-site, both in person and via telehealth
- Medication management services via telehealth to adult patients of the Ally Care Center Satellite MHOTRS program
- Medication Reconciliation for patients at intake, or upon their return from a higher level of care
- Administration of LAI medications
- Diagnostic evaluations
- Interventional Psychiatry services (e.g. Spravato) as they are developed at MHRH (future state)
- Evaluation and management of patients presenting in crisis
- Provide routine medical monitoring services (e.g. weight, blood pressure) to patients as indicated
In addition to providing clinical services, the NP will:
- Attend and contribute to all required meetings including High Risk and Staff meetings
- Maintain electronic medical records in a timely manner and in accordance with all regulatory and policy requirements
- Participate in interdisciplinary case consultation
- Coordinate with 3rd-party providers and patients’ collateral as indicated
- Candidates must be Board Certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and possess, or be able to obtain, an applicable New York State License.
- Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a psychiatric provider but highly motivated new graduates will be considered.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Candidates must have BLS and ACLS
