Insurance Experts

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for Insurance Experts based in Canada.

This contract opportunity is designed for experienced insurance professionals with deep expertise across complex commercial insurance environments. You will apply real-world knowledge of underwriting, claims, actuarial pricing, risk management, reinsurance, and regulatory affairs to develop sophisticated insurance scenarios. Your expertise will help capture the practical judgment required to navigate large-scale, multi-stakeholder insurance operations. You will create realistic tasks, reference guidelines, and risk narratives that reflect enterprise-level insurance practices. The role also involves developing evaluation rubrics capable of distinguishing genuine professional judgment from generic or theoretical knowledge. Working remotely and independently, you will contribute your industry expertise to high-impact projects involving emerging AI technologies.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop complex enterprise insurance scenarios covering commercial underwriting, claims adjudication, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and other insurance workflows.
  • Create realistic insurance tasks spanning underwriting, claims management, actuarial pricing, reinsurance strategy, risk management, and regulatory affairs.
  • Design scenarios that reflect the complexity of large insurance organizations, including multiple stakeholders, operational constraints, and regulatory requirements.
  • Leverage enterprise insurance platforms and analytical tools such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, SAS, and R where relevant to develop realistic industry scenarios.
  • Apply established insurance methodologies, including actuarial risk modeling, loss reserving, and enterprise risk management (ERM) frameworks.
  • Produce reference guidelines, risk narratives, and evaluation materials that reflect authentic insurance decision-making.
  • Develop detailed rubrics that distinguish experienced enterprise insurance judgment from generic, textbook-level responses.
  • Maintain a high standard of accuracy, realism, and professional relevance across all assignments.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in underwriting, claims, actuarial, risk management, or a closely related discipline within a large-scale insurance carrier or reinsurer.
  • Direct experience owning or managing enterprise-scale underwriting portfolios, claims operations, actuarial pricing models, or comparable insurance functions.
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance operations, enterprise risk management, actuarial methodologies, and insurance regulatory requirements.
  • Practical knowledge of reinsurance practices and their application within complex insurance organizations.
  • Familiarity with enterprise insurance technology and analytical platforms, including tools such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, SAS, or R.
  • Strong ability to translate professional expertise into realistic scenarios, structured guidance, and evaluation criteria.
  • Excellent analytical, written communication, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to distinguish nuanced professional judgment from generic or theoretical insurance knowledge.
  • Comfortable working independently and remotely in an environment requiring strong ownership, precision, and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience creating rubrics, actuarial or underwriting training materials, claims documentation, or similar professional content is preferred.
Benefits:
  • Competitive contract compensation of $50–$60 per hour.
  • Fully remote work environment.
  • Flexible, project-based working structure.
  • Opportunity to apply specialized insurance expertise to emerging AI technologies.
  • Exposure to complex, enterprise-level insurance use cases across underwriting, claims, actuarial, risk, and regulatory functions.
  • Opportunity to contribute directly to the development of sophisticated AI evaluation frameworks.
  • Independent work environment with the flexibility to manage assignments and deliverables.
