The Annex Teen Clinic provides sexual health care and education for young adults through age 25 in a friendly, non-judgmental, and comfortable atmosphere. Our services are low-cost, medically accurate, and developmentally appropriate. The Annex Teen Clinic has been providing services in Northwest Hennepin County and North Minneapolis since 1971.

Wages

$50 - $54 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience

Provide compassionate, inclusive healthcare services that support the health and well-being of adolescents and young adults. As a Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Midwife at The Annex, you will deliver high-quality clinical care, health education, and patient advocacy while helping advance the organization's mission of accessible, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities will include:

Direct Patient Care

  • Deliver comprehensive clinical care by conducting assessments, obtaining medical histories, documenting findings, and supporting patients through diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic testing to support informed medical decision-making.
  • Provide reproductive and sexual healthcare services, including procedures, screenings, infection management, and preventive care.
  • Develop individualized care plans and provide counseling, education, and follow-up support that empowers patients to make informed healthcare decisions.
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.
  • Educate patients on topics such as sexual health, family planning, wellness, disease prevention, nutrition, and overall health maintenance.
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical leaders to provide the highest quality of care and address complex medical needs.

Clinical Collaboration & Program Support

  • Partner with clinical leadership to support organizational goals, quality initiatives, productivity benchmarks, and operational priorities.
  • Participate in team meetings, clinical consultations, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Help foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and excellence in patient care.

Who You Are

  • You have a current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse license in the state where you practice, or the ability to obtain required state licensure upon hire.
  • You have current national board certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse, Certified Nurse Midwife, or Physician Assistant.
  • You have earned an advanced clinical degree, at minimum a master's degree.
  • You have at least 1 year of experience in youth development, health education, public health, or a related field.
  • You have 2 or more years of professional experience providing sexual health services, health education, counseling, or referral services.
  • You have experience working with LGBTQ+ individuals and other populations disproportionately impacted by sexually transmitted infections.
  • You can practice independently, exercise sound clinical judgment, and take initiative in managing patient care responsibilities.
  • You can communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, colleagues, and community partners, both verbally and in writing.
  • You have a commitment to providing affirming, inclusive, and culturally responsive care to people of diverse backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
  • You thrive in a collaborative, mission-driven environment and enjoy contributing to shared goals.
  • You have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers as well as a valid First Aid certification.
