Compensation: $13.80 per hour

About the Role

The Part-Time Residential Assistant (RA) provides guidance, supervision, and daily support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) living in a residential setting. This position helps create a safe, supportive, and home-like environment while encouraging independence and active participation in daily living activities.

The Residential Assistant works closely with the Day Programmer and other professionals to provide active treatment, maintain a clean and safe living environment, and ensure accurate documentation of services provided. Reliable transportation is required.

What You'll Do
  • Supervise and assist individuals with daily living activities.
  • Provide active treatment services according to individual program plans.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and home-like group home environment that meets Life Safety and Health standards.
  • Assist the Day Programmer with scheduled active treatment activities.
  • Complete daily documentation, including activity notes, medication inventory records, and progress reports.
  • Complete additional documentation as required.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals to support each individual's goals.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and supportive living environment.
What You NeedRequired
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • Driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to complete Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving training modules.
  • Ability to complete all required employee training.
Preferred
  • Six (6) months of experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Work Schedule
  • Part-time position.
  • Hours and days will vary based on program needs.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to walk, drive, and assist individuals throughout the workday.
  • Ability to see, hear, communicate effectively, and perform tasks requiring hand and finger dexterity.
