VP, Business Development - Wholesale

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP, Business Development - Wholesale based in the United States.

This is a high-impact executive opportunity for a strategic sales leader to drive wholesale lending growth across national broker and third-party originator networks. In this role, you will be responsible for expanding market presence, developing high-value partnerships, and originating significant loan volume across a diverse real estate investment product suite. You will operate as a senior ambassador in the market, building trusted relationships with brokers, lenders, and industry stakeholders while positioning innovative financing solutions. The position combines strategic business development with hands-on relationship management, requiring both commercial acumen and strong industry credibility. Ideal candidates are entrepreneurial, highly networked, and energized by building scalable revenue pipelines in a competitive lending environment.

Accountabilities
  • Drive wholesale business development strategy and originate substantial monthly loan volume through broker and third-party originator relationships.
  • Build, expand, and manage a strong network of wholesale lending partners across real estate investment markets, including fix-and-flip, new construction, rental, and bridge lending products.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to increase market penetration and strengthen brand positioning within the wholesale lending ecosystem.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to brokers and lending partners by educating them on product offerings, pricing structures, and competitive advantages.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, networking events, seminars, and business development engagements to grow visibility and pipeline.
  • Negotiate loan opportunities and ensure high-quality execution from initial relationship development through funding.
  • Maintain disciplined pipeline management to consistently achieve and exceed production targets.
  • Collaborate with internal credit, underwriting, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution and high customer satisfaction.
  • Continuously identify new market opportunities and refine strategies to enhance partner engagement and revenue growth.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in wholesale lending, private lending, mortgage finance, or real estate investment finance.
  • Proven track record of originating and closing significant loan volume through wholesale, broker, or third-party origination channels.
  • Established book of business within wholesale lending or strong existing relationships with brokers and TPO networks.
  • Deep understanding of real estate investment lending products, including fix-and-flip, new construction, DSCR rental loans, and bridge financing.
  • Strong negotiation, sales, and relationship management skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new markets, generate leads, and scale revenue in competitive financial services environments.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a strong executive presence.
  • Ability to work independently in a high-performance, target-driven environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred.
  • NMLS license preferred or ability to obtain if required.
