This role is at the heart of a global social impact platform that empowers millions of people to drive change through citizen-led campaigns. You will be responsible for identifying, elevating, and amplifying the most compelling stories emerging from user petitions across Brazil, transforming them into impactful narratives across press, social media, and digital channels. The position combines strategic communications, media relations, and campaign storytelling, requiring strong editorial judgment and a deep understanding of Brazil’s media and socio-political landscape. You will work closely with global and local teams to strengthen brand visibility, engage key audiences, and expand the reach of high-impact campaigns. In addition, you will manage relationships with journalists, influencers, and stakeholders to ensure sustained visibility for the platform’s initiatives. This is a mission-driven role for someone passionate about civic engagement, storytelling, and using communications as a tool for social change.
- Identify, curate, and amplify high-impact citizen campaigns, ensuring strong visibility across press, social media, and email channels, with a focus on compelling storytelling and petition creators.
- Develop and execute communications strategies to increase awareness of the platform and its campaigns among media, policymakers, influencers, and key stakeholders in Brazil.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, opinion leaders, civil society actors, and decision-makers to enhance campaign reach and long-term brand visibility.
- Lead corporate communications efforts in Brazil, aligning local execution with global strategy and contributing to broader brand positioning and messaging initiatives.
- Manage content performance across digital channels, including email and social media, optimizing engagement and supporting platform growth.
- Oversee operational and regulatory communications needs locally, ensuring compliance with internal policies, budget alignment, and reporting accuracy.
- 10+ years of experience in communications, media, public relations, brand strategy, or campaigning roles.
- At least 3+ years managing social media channels for an organization or brand, with proven experience driving engagement and audience growth.
- Minimum 3+ years of leadership experience managing small teams and coordinating cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong network of media contacts and external stakeholders in Brazil, including journalists, influencers, and public sector actors.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both Portuguese and English, including experience writing press materials, digital content, and campaign narratives.
- Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to translate complex social issues into compelling communication strategies.
- Data-driven mindset, leveraging insights, performance metrics, and digital tools (including AI) to optimize communication impact.
- Ability to work across diverse perspectives and support campaigns aligned with open-platform principles, even when viewpoints differ.
- Strong autonomy, ownership, and ability to execute projects end-to-end in fast-paced environments.
- Experience working with diverse audiences and tailoring messaging for different segments of society in Brazil.
