Job Description

Senior Project Manager (IT & Operations) - Temporary

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Project Manager (IT & Operations) - Temporary based in Canada.

This senior-level role offers the opportunity to lead complex, high-visibility IT and business programs in a fast-paced, global environment. You will coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver initiatives that support organizational growth, scalability, and operational efficiency. The position combines strategic program leadership with hands-on execution, particularly across AI automation and enterprise technology initiatives. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across functions including Finance, Product, Sales, Client Success, Procurement, Legal, and Information Security. The role also involves evaluating technology solutions, managing risks and dependencies, and measuring business outcomes. It is well suited to an experienced project leader who can bring structure to ambiguity while driving measurable results.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the planning and execution of complex, high-visibility IT and business programs, ensuring solutions meet both business and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders across functions to maintain alignment, manage dependencies, and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Use AI assistants such as Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude to accelerate research, content creation, and day-to-day productivity.
  • Drive the design and implementation of AI-enabled projects and automations, identifying opportunities to improve workflows and measuring their impact on productivity, cost, and scalability.
  • Partner with Procurement, Legal, Information Security, and business stakeholders on RFPs, vendor evaluations, and ROI analysis.
  • Identify, track, and proactively mitigate program risks, issues, and dependencies across interconnected workstreams.
  • Prepare clear, executive-ready updates on program status, progress, risks, and key decisions for senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Measure program performance and lead post-project evaluations to compare delivered outcomes with projected business-case ROI.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience delivering complex programs, with a strong track record of achieving timely, outcome-focused results.
  • Senior consulting experience with the ability to quickly understand new environments, establish credibility, and operate independently with minimal ramp-up.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while advising on portfolio priorities and dependencies.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders without direct authority.
  • Hands-on experience building and optimizing AI automations using tools such as Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT, Workato, or similar platforms.
  • Experience evaluating and implementing SaaS solutions such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Snowflake, ThoughtSpot, or comparable enterprise technologies.
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with practical execution skills and the ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous situations.
  • Experience working effectively in high-growth, global, and cross-functional environments.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, and Microsoft Project.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, International Business, Management, or a related field.
  • PMP or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification is strongly preferred.

Benefits:

  • Temporary contract/consulting engagement, with potential for extension based on business needs.
  • Remote-first opportunity with flexibility to work from anywhere in Canada.
  • Competitive hourly compensation of $65–$85 CAD, depending on experience, skills, education, certifications, and other relevant factors.
  • Access to AI platforms, programmatic courses, certifications, and other learning resources.
  • Comprehensive health benefits and access to mental health support, where applicable to the engagement.
  • Paid time off packages, including birthday leave where applicable.
  • Work-from-home reimbursement.
  • Optional global WeWork membership and access to hubs in London and Toronto, where applicable.
  • Training, onboarding, and support for professional development through conferences, courses, books, and other initiatives.
  • Parental leave support, where applicable.
  • Friendly, collaborative, and supportive working environment.
  • Social and team events.
  • Benefits and perks may vary depending on the country of employment and the nature of the engagement and are administered in accordance with applicable local regulations and partner policies.
