Description:
The Lead Bartender is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the bar while helping lead and develop Eden’s beverage program. This role combines strong bartending and hospitality skills with leadership, creativity, organization, and a commitment to maintaining high standards. The Lead Bartender works closely with management to create an engaging beverage experience, develop seasonal cocktails, maintain proper inventory and ordering, train and mentor bartenders, and ensure the bar operates efficiently and consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of Eden’s beverage program, including seasonal cocktails, specials, and menu updates.
- Create and maintain cocktail recipes, specifications, presentation, and prep standards.
- Maintain beverage quality, consistency, pricing, and portion standards.
- Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring the bar is clean, organized, stocked, and service-ready.
- Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, storage, rotation, and product counts.
- Monitor product usage, waste, portion control, and beverage costs.
- Train, mentor, and support bartenders and bar support staff on recipes, beverage knowledge, service standards, POS procedures, and bar operations.
- Provide ongoing coaching and ensure adherence to established standards and procedures.
- Deliver knowledgeable and welcoming guest service, including beverage recommendations and handling special requests or concerns.
- Collaborate with FOH, BOH, and management to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Lead assigned shifts, including opening and closing procedures, bar prep, and task delegation.
- Monitor service flow and proactively address operational issues.
- Communicate inventory needs, maintenance concerns, guest feedback, and other important updates to management.
- Support management in maintaining accountability, service standards, and a positive team environment.
- Previous bartending experience in a high-volume or full-service restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and beverage service.
- Demonstrated ability to create and execute cocktails consistently.
- Leadership or training experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional during busy service.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable.
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Passion for hospitality, food, beverages, and creating memorable guest experiences.
