Job Description

Job Title: Parts and Service Manager

Location: Clearwater, FL
Reports to: Operations Manager
Department: Parts Department

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and results-driven Parts and Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of our parts department with oversight of our service department. This individual will be responsible for managing the inventory, ordering, and distribution of parts while ensuring that all departmental functions are performed efficiently. Program development and pricing will be key components. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a keen ability to analyze data to drive improvements in inventory management, procurement processes, and overall department performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Oversee and manage the inventory of parts to ensure accurate stock levels, timely ordering, and optimal stock turnover.
  • Parts Program Management: Assess and enhance the existing parts program. This will include margin analysis, pricing, catalog creation, and promotions. Will work with the Marketing team to create brochures, catalog, fliers and parts updates on the website.
  • Service Program Management: Oversee the service department and assist in determining service work and warranty claims. This is to include oversight of remote service technicians.
  • Warranty Program: Oversee the warranty department.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize analytical tools and techniques to track margins, part usage, sales trends, and stock performance. Produce reports and actionable insights to drive decision-making.
  • Procurement & Supplier Management: Assure adequate inventory is in place by working with our procurement team and/or outside vendors.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, train, and mentor a team of department staff to meet performance goals. Ensure team adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze workflows and operational inefficiencies to recommend improvements and implement best practices in the department’s daily operations.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure that the correct parts are available for timely delivery to internal departments or customers. Address any customer concerns related to parts or services.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Regularly report on key performance metrics, inventory health, parts orders, and department performance to upper management.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all parts are stored and handled in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in a parts management, supply chain, or inventory control role, preferably in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and create actionable insights that drive operational efficiency and cost savings.
  • Problem Solving: Proficient in identifying problems in inventory flow, parts shortages, or operational inefficiencies and implementing solutions.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems). Advanced proficiency in Excel for reporting and analysis.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead a team, develop talent, and maintain high levels of motivation and performance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in parts management in [industry-specific sector such as automotive, heavy machinery, or manufacturing].
