Organ Recovery Technician (EMT, Surgical Tech) at Mid South Transplant – Memphis, Tennessee

The Organ Recovery Technician (known as ORT) is responsible for helping complete and maintain organ donor medical records, supply management, assisting in the operating room during organ recovery, preservation of kidneys, and allocation of kidneys for successful transplantation. In addition, this position is responsible for assisting with the initiation of organ donor cases.

Qualifications: Degree or certification in health-related field; Minimum of 2 years’ work experience preferred. Experience with sterile technique preferred. Possess strong organization and interpersonal skills. Must use critical thinking skills, analytical and be detail-oriented. Must have auto liability insurance. The ORT could use their personal vehicle or company vehicle to travel to donor hospitals (within a 3-hour radius of Memphis, TN). Mileage reimbursement available.

Work Hours: 24 hour shifts (10 to 15 days a month); which could include some weekends and holidays. Office hours are also required as workload dictates (office in Cordova, TN). Salary ranges from: $50,000-$60,000 based on education and experience.
