About This Position
Position Description:
The Director of Workforce Development plays a critical leadership role at Restore Education, ensuring the effective management of our training department and employer and community relations. The Director will collaborate closely with organizational leadership to oversee the continuum of workforce development programming including case management, job placement, and college support, focusing on delivering in-demand career training and college/career readiness, while ensuring compliance with special grant requirements and performance metrics.
Responsibilities
Program & Outcome Management
Oversee and manage workforce development programs, ensuring they meet established goals, performance measures, and grant compliance.
Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, using data to ensure that key milestones and outcomes are achieved within deadlines.
Ensure all programs align with Texas Workforce Commission guidelines and other funding requirements.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and manage a team of professionals, providing mentorship, training, and accountability to maintain a high standard of service and program implementation.
Ensure staff adherence to program models and grant guidelines, creating a supportive environment for professional growth.
Partnership & Collaboration
Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with training providers, higher ed institutions, workforce agencies, and community organizations to ensure the continuous flow of program participants and opportunities.
Direct partnership strategy with employers for internships and job placement of graduates, including formalizing MOUs and collaborative agreements.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to schedule and deliver a wide array of training offerings and services.
Project Management & Accountability
Employ strong project management skills to juggle multiple initiatives simultaneously, ensuring the timely delivery of all programs and maintaining compliance with grant and funder expectations.
Maintain detailed records, track program data, and ensure accountability in reporting performance metrics.
Design and manage project timelines, tasks, and staff accountability to achieve success.
Agency Responsibilities
Serve as member of Leadership Team with executive responsibilities for agency functionality.
Attend all meetings and in-service training as needed. Some travel required.
Complete required amount of professional development hours each year.
Perform related duties and fulfill responsibilities as required and/or assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills
Aligned with Restore Educations mission and values.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Social Sciences, Education, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in workforce development, career training, pre-college preparation, or related fields. Preferred experience with Texas Adult Education and Literacy programming.
Experience working with low-income or disenfranchised communities is desirable.
Proven experience leading high-growth organizations, with comfort presenting to senior leaders.
5-7 years of supervisory experience managing teams and complex programs.
Proficient in Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with CRM experience preferred.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Strong knowledge of workforce development, career readiness, and adult education.
Expertise in project management, adherence to strict deadlines, and performance accountability at all levels, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standard.
Leadership experience, particularly in environments requiring a combination of strategic thinking, attention to detail, and decisive, results-driven action.
Ability to maintain strong community partnerships and develop collaborative relationships with external partners and training providers.
Capacity to learn and stabilize existing programs in the first year, focusing on understanding current systems before implementing major changes.
Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to inspire and lead teams in a fast-paced, outcome-driven environment.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 9am-6pm and Friday 9am-2pm (some Evenings and Saturdays required)
Estimated Annual Salary Range: Dependent on education and experience. Estimated at $70,000-$85,000.

*This position is grant funded. Although the grant is expected to end, additional funding might be obtained to extend the grant beyond the end date. If that would occur, your employment under the grant might also be extended. However, all employment is at will and may be terminated by you or the agency at any time regardless of the end date of the grant.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Must possess a valid Class C Texas Drivers License or obtain a valid Class C Texas Drivers License within thirty (30) days after becoming a resident of the State of Texas.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical requirements include visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, bending, twisting, and walking to perform the essential functions.
