Human Resources Recruiter/Generalist in Lancaster, New York at Orville's Appliance Inc

Company Overview:
For nearly six decades, Orville’s Home Appliances has been a leader in the home appliance industry in the region. We’re seeking a dedicated Human Resources Specialist to support our continued growth and help us maintain our strong company culture. This position is based at our corporate headquarters in Lancaster, NY.

The ideal candidate will manage daily HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, employee benefits, and acting as the liaison between employees and management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Post job advertisements, screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, and manage initial interviews to assess candidates' qualifications and cultural fit
• Oversee the pre-employment and onboarding process, including new hire orientation
• Maintain confidential HR files and employee databases
• Assist with administering benefits programs, compensation, and performance evaluations
• Provide administrative support to various departments
• Serve as an employee relations point of contact to address concerns and provide solutions
• Collaborate with leadership to implement best practices and optimize HR operations
• Communicate and interpret policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of HR experience (strong recruiting experience is a plus)
• Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now is a plus
• Understanding of HR laws and regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times

Education:

• Associate’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (relevant work experience may be substituted)
• PHR Certification preferred

Schedule:

• Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Occasional overtime may be required

Salary:

• $25.00 - $36.00 per hour
