CST - Surgical Technologist at BAYOU REGION SURGICAL CENTER – Thibodaux, Louisiana

Introduction:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team and provide high-quality care to our patients. The Surgical Tech will maintain a sterile field, provide support to physicians during surgical procedures, and ensure that patients receive the best possible care. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises the sterile field in the operating room
  
• Performs all scrub duties with efficiency and speed
• Ensure patient and physicians' needs are met
• Ensures that proper techniques and practices are used according to accepted standards of practice
• Supervises and assists other team members as necessary
• Performs other surgical tech duties as assigned
  
• Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with patients, families, visitors and other Center employees
• Documents concisely and accurately on all sterilization records

Qualifications:

• Graduate of approved Surgical Technician program
• BLS
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Surgical Tech
• Knowledge of instruments and surgical techniques; instrument and needle counts; isolation techniques and terminal cleaning of instruments and rooms
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
• Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
