Position Description

This individual will assist with tutoring, mentoring, coaching of youth between first and sixth grades who participate in activities through The Sanneh Center at Conway, including learning hub, tech hub, and physical fitness activities (indoors as well as outdoors). This individual will also assist with packaging, logistics of food distribution on/off site.

Role and Responsibilities

This individual will be responsible for:

  • Creating a supportive, safe, and welcoming environment for the youth in sports and emotional development

  • Monitor and direct youth sports activities indoors as well as outdoors

  • Assist with packaging, logistics of food distribution at The Sanneh Center or other sites

List of duties performed includes:

  • Supporting youth with general learning needs in sports teamwork

  • Reviewing topics and assignments

  • Assisting youth with assignments and projects

  • Supporting and encouraging youth to stay on task and complete their assignments or projects

  • Providing support with study strategies, note-taking skills and approaches to answering to youth inquiries

  • Help to develop supplement materials to engage youth as needed

  • Providing youth with positive and constructive feedback

  • Offering feedback on progress to youth’s parents, guardians, and teachers where appropriate

  • Assist and support youth with the use of technology in their assignments throughout the day

  • Supporting youth with outdoor activities (sports such as basketball, soccer, and pickelball)

  • Promoting safety for youth who take part in activities both indoors and outdoors


Preferred Education & Qualifications

  • Experience with academically or technologically supporting institutions.

  • Experience supporting and mentoring youth audiences.

  • Familiarity with Social Emotional Learning (SEL) concepts.

  • Monitoring youth outdoor activities.

  • Promoting safety and well-being of youth

  • Experience working with diverse communities, immigrant youth, Native American, Hispanic and/or urban communities.
