Job Description:

The Principal Trainer is responsible for the application training environment and training materials. The Principal Trainer assures the training material meets the project standard and is workflow-based. In collaboration with the other Principal Trainers, the Principal Trainer maintains the integrity of their training environment and ensures that it meets the project standards. The Principal Trainer provides training to the user community on various platforms, including multimedia deliverables, to lead in-person and virtual instructor-led training. This position facilitates training for new hires and continuing education of end users related to Epic maintenance and upgrades. The Principal Trainer understands their assigned applications, their value to the business aspects of clinical operations and assists users to maximize the utility of the clinical system. As a member of the application team, the Principal Trainer will obtain application certification and assist with the system life cycle. The Principal Trainer will work closely with the Credentialed Trainers to ensure a successful training experience.

This position is primarily remote but must be able to travel onsite to our facilities as training needs dictate.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business management, or information systems.
  • 3 years adult education and classroom teaching experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of adult learning styles.
  • Clinical experience in a hospital setting necessary, i.e. nursing, ancillary, etc.
  • Proven skills in problem solving.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Working knowledge of multiple software applications, systems analysis/design, integration/design, or web applications/design.
  • General understanding of underlying technologies: hardware, networking, Intranet, Internet, PDA, bar coding and wireless.
  • Ability and commitment to meet deadlines and cope in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of working well in a diverse, multidisciplinary team and successfully interacting with others at all levels of the organization, including remote teams.
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor in both normal and pressure situations.
  • Proficient MS Office skills.
  • Epic proficiency/certification preferred or must obtain Epic proficiency/certification during the introductory period.
  • Must be able to travel to Powers Health facilities as training needs dictate.
