NUMBER OF HOURS/WEEK: 40 hours/week

REMOTE/TELECOMMUTING POSITION: N/A – 100% onsite.

TRAVEL: 25% domestic travel within Berkshire County to provide care at other Berkshire Health clinical sites, including Berkshire Health Pediatrics and Macony Pediatrics.

JOB DUTIES:

• Take a history and perform a physical examination of patients.
• Develop medical care plans for patients, through medical knowledge and clinical decision-making ability.
• Communicate with patients and staff, verbally and otherwise, in a manner that exhibits good professional judgement and is appropriate for the professional setting.
• Read charts, monitors, and other sources of clinical information.
• Complete appropriate medical records and documents and plans according to protocol in a complete, timely manner.
• Elicit information from patients by palpitation, auscultation, percussion, and other diagnostic maneuvers.
• Execute motor movements reasonably to provide general care and emergency treatment to patients.
• Perform all job functions while dressed in protective clothing required for clinical duties, including a mask, gown, and gloves.
• Work shifts of varying lengths and schedules, including daytime, evening, and overnight clinical shifts.
• Fulfill backup and on-call duties as scheduled.
• Provide care at other Berkshire Health clinical sites in Berkshire County, including Berkshire Health Pediatrics and Macony Pediatrics.
• Utilize a computer for medical record review, documentation, decision support, research, and education in an efficient and timely fashion.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Must possess active/valid Physician Assistant (PA) license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
